Michaela Decker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
I am passionate about strengthening our connections in life, whether they are with our loved ones, our communities or within ourselves. I believe that exploring these relationships leads to increased clarity, depth, and harmony, and I am able to help you do so in a supportive environment. Trust is vital to the therapeutic relationship, and will be built within a safe and non-judgmental environment. My approach is warm and humorous, yet direct as needed. I am consistently honored by the opportunity to work with individuals and families who allow me to be a part of their journey.
I am a proud 3rd generation Sun Devil who graduated from ASU with my Masters of Marriage and Family Therapy in 2010. After graduation, I spent over a decade serving the community with various non-profit behavioral health organizations as a clinician and a Clinical Supervisor. The experience I gained during this time was invaluable in strengthening my clinical knowledge and expertise. While I have worked with a wide variety of presenting issues, some of my specific areas of specialty include anxiety, depression, trauma/abuse recovery, grief/loss, relationship stressors, adult family therapy, life transitions, and couples therapy. While I pull from a variety of therapeutic modalities, I always work from an attachment and trauma-informed lens.
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband, two children, and our dogs. I also enjoy going to concerts, doing hot yoga, and reading (although I tend to buy more books before I read the stack that I have). I look forward to speaking with you to see if I am good fit for you or your family’s needs.
